How to get through Dragon Warrior VII Empty How to get through Dragon Warrior VII

Post by Foxstar Sat Mar 10, 2012 7:48 pm

This isn't exactly a story. More of an html-littered walkthrough that I don't feel like cleaning up right now.
This was originally going to be a reply to someone who was talking to me about it, which gradually turned into this little guide thing.

I KNOW this game is extremely long. When I was six after my dad introduced me to it, the last thing I remember before he took it back was this large tower.. a purple interior and colorful, painful enemies. --I'll get back to this.
I know exactly where you were, and, let's just say, you were only about 20% through the game - this was the Falrod region. It's probably one of my least favourite places because of the long story behind it (but it's worth it because it holds a very important sanctuary across the bridge in the present-times). I know exactly how you feel on that part. The Clockmechs were one of my least favourite enemies too, but now I kill them in one hit.
Anyway, yes, it does take a lot of grinding to beat those annoyances.
(--SPOILERS AHEAD--)
There's a duel-boss battle ahead of it in a small ditch. It's extremely unfair if you're not up in the better levels for this region.
I got passed that and, there are a lot of tear-jerking moments throughout the game, like the Dialac region - a place where an entire town were turned to stone years ago, and even the Angel's Tear (a magical liquid given to you by the old man that survived) cannot cure the curse. However, a small boy named Joseph was hiding in a secret base below the town and once the Angel Tear was used, he came out - completely unharmed and unaged. Him and the old man said that they will begin a journey to warn the other islands about the Gray Rain.
Another sad story was in the Verdham region, where a Romio-and-Juliet type thing plays out. More details about this willbe found here: http://shrines.rpgclassics.com/psx/d.../verdham.shtml --This place was also cursed by the Gray Rain and you will see why.
Kiefer also leaves for the rest of the game with the Deja tribe to attempt to ressurect God - but fails. He leaves afterward. He sends all of his equipment back with you and you can never find him again, but King Burns and Princess Lisa can't seem to forget about it.
There is also a place called Dharma where you get character classes such as Warrior, Fighter, TeenIdol and Jester - some are intermediate and some advanced, blah. (I'm looking to get all my characters to master Godhand and Hero-- some of the most advanced classes -- but I'll get back to that.) This is also a painfully long region to complete, having to go Penal Town and back and forth... back.. and forth...
There also comes a point where you have to go underwater (and the birthmark on the Hero's arm allows travel underwater -- which I will also get back to). The enemies here are a pain in the Tail unless you've ground enough to make them easy, and the boss -Gracos, is also a pain. In the present you also have the choice to fight the new Gracos, in which you won't be able to slay him and he will allow you access to his treasure.
The Hotstone that Hondara had in the beginning is also the key to resurrecting the Great Hero Melvin, the man you fought alongside God and was sealed away until the time of rebirth had arrived. Hondara sold the Hotstone to Brugeo (a guy that you will notice has about three huge mansions that he never uses all around the world) and you must track him down, eventually obtaining the Magic Carpet and flying over to his main mansion where he comes with you to this tower -- when Melvin is resurrected he will join you.
Maribel will also leave after the Probina region -- you will have to unequip any shards or game-necessary keys she is holding or it will result in a game-breaking glitch. =_=
After Coastal you will go to the Sky Fane (this is what is located in the Falrod region across the bridge) and after following a few paths, you will need to use the Blissrock on the Crest of God found in a field surrounded by mountains which will be accessed after journeying once again under water. The Soldiers of God await you and you will have to use all of the ? Shards you have to complete the Pedestal of Resurrection-- which will take you back in time to yet another period in Falrod when you'll have to drop the other Sky Fanes. When you go back to the present no Fane will be missing and after exploring the rest of the Sky Fane you will be rewarded with the Sky Stone - a mystical rock that allows four people to be in at a time that flies much higher than the Carpet. You can pass every obstacle on the map with it. With this rock you will have to go to the Northeastern corner of the map and discover a Fane surrounded by mountains where an odd looking guy gives you a ? Shard, and you will go to the Excavation Site -- also needed during the Dune region. You will come to understand that the Excavation Site was dug down into a crater, which you will find many dead people. Once through here you will come to a scary-looking room with Hellish fires burning beneath you, in which you will fit all of the ? Shards needed into the face of a demon. You will now go back through time and through the Demon Lord's layer to slay him. Once finished an eerie voice will call, "Even though I die, may the next god of this world rain his blessings upon these four travelers.

Next you will go to the Mardra region (another region you will have already completed) where the contest for the tula players will be held. When this is held, Johann (the descendant of Jann) will complete and join your party. Go to the Deja region and -- you will notice that after defeating the Demon Lord you will have revived another part of this continent -- go to the place where you tried to revive God in the past. The Chief will try to give Aira the Innocent Gown - which she has already obtained by the Soldiers of God. A cut-screen will appear as you watch Aira and Johann dance and play the Tula atop the Fane of God, when God will appear before you and share a few words, then re-disappear after a note of gratitude to the travelers who revived Him.
You will go back to Fishbel. Many months pass and an eerie sense of de-ja-vu will occur when your mother Mollie hands you a fish sub and tells you that you are late to deliver it to Borkano. Borkano will ramble on about how your mother could have given birth to another child and blah blah, just go peel some potatoes. So talk to one of the men below deck and then go back above deck, and he will see you off... Then you realize that the Messengers of God have come to speak with King Burns. Go speak with the guard at Estard and he will tell you that you are not allowed through, then go back to Amitt and he will give you hell about it. It's really annoying. Anyway you will eventually get in and get Aira back as Burns, Aira, you and Gabo go to the large tower on a small island -- a tower with a purple interior.... You find yourself in a room with many people you have met before, next, and as you attempt to leave out of boredom and confusion of what to do next, one of the Messengers tells you to stay - then God will appear again. He will tell everyone to drop their weapons and not to fight even that of a monster, and take away your Dark Ruby -- something you obtained in Dune as well. Funny, isn't it? ...
On your way back to Estard there is a cut-screen that appears and Melvin jumps off of the tower, the sky turns dark, and there is a weird black aura around your home island. You will crash-land on top of Estard Castle and the King will be injured, as guards carry him back to the Throne Room. After talking to everyone you want/need to talk to, you will realize that there are dozens of new, rather hard enemies roaming around the island. Everything is dark. This gives you the sensation that you are in the past. You will go to the Ruins and a voice will call to you - it's Melvin calling from the spirit statue, which he will tell you to recover the four Spirits - Fire, Terra, Wind and Aqua. As you go into the Ruins you'll notice that you cannot interact with the pedestals - and you will realize that your island has been sealed away as all the others were hundreds of years ago. You will go into the center room (and if you will, notice that Estard is the only island on the floor-map) and enter the Fire Shrine. Melvin will call to you again and explain that he will need to send the Pilot Fire to you with his God-given powers. It will then switch to him -- and you will have control of him. (Let's hope you have Melvin at a moderately - powerful level, and you have plenty of good spells and skills...) You will have to speak with the King of Coastal - which can be found in the local cave, he will give you permission to enter the lighthouse. Go to the top and interact with the Pilot Fire. It will now switch back to your heroes. You are now able to go to the Engow region - which has also been sealed away from the other islands. Talk to Pamela and the Chief and go to the bottom of the Volcano, where the Fire Spirit lies dormant. Pamela's maid will come and give you the Flame Aqua which you will use to awaken the Fire Spirit. He wants you to prove your worthiness and fights you. (Try not to die..!) When you win (if you win lol) he will give you the Flame Charm, which will be used later.
Go back to Fishbel and realize your father had been lost at sea, yadda yadda. Awaken the Terra spirit now after taking the Pilot Fire from Engow. This one is in the Sphinx, inside that room you weren't allowed before. You will take Saide (one of the Chief's sons) to where the Shaman is inside the center pot. He will take you to the clearing where he begins to draw the Terra spirit, but conveniently forgets the face. Talk with the Queen. She will give you permission to enter the basement area where you will defeat three mini-boss creatures that are chasing the Chief's other three sons. They will give you the King Key, and you will be able to open the door inside of the Sphinx, which just so happens to be a pyramid dungeon. Explore to get all of the jewels and break the heart-shaped one in half, and report back to the Shaman who will make the face and the Terra Spirit will awaken (who is much less aggressive than the Flame spirit) and goes to Dharma. Same with the Wind Spirit (who's also very highschool-girl-esque and evem flirts with Gabo .. wtf). Now you will have to awaken the Aqua Spirit.
You will have already realized that Sharkeye's enormous ship has been unfrozen and your birthmarks are joint. You will go back to his ship and tell him that you need to awaken the Aqua Spirit. You will hold the Aquagon (a very powerful sword given to you by the King of Coastal in the past) into the air and awaken the Aqua Spirit who also goes with the others.
A screen will occur where the four Spirits speak with this all-knowing God, and blast him. He reveals himself as the Demon Lord Reborn and the Crystal Palace grows, to become the death-trap for everything but nests of monsters.
This is where I remembered being when I was six years old. I remembered that this tower (dubbed by myself, Tower of Screaming Monsters) was very, very tall - taller than any other tower in the game. In fact, to access it, you will need the Sky Stone. You will also have the choice to have Maribel back. Inside this tower you will find the Final Key, which can unlock any of those doors that you wanted to unlock before. These monsters are extremely hard and will pwn you if you're not the right level This is where the game will end if you defeat the Demon Lord (which I am still grinding to get to him). But you will still be able to explore the bonus dungeons, assume monster classes and level up beyond God's own power.
(--END OF SPOILERS--)

That was a very long walk-through thing. o.o
I didn't even expect to type that much but OH WELL.
I don't have a life, and I was bored. ^_^"
Enjoy.

That wasn't a hint for you to turn it on, but if you want to I guess you can.
It was an error when I entered it and just irritated me so bad I never cleaned it up. ^_^"
